As the principal of Central High School, I am responsible for the orchestration of 123 teaching staff and 1700+ students in grades 9-12. We support a level of excellence in education, respected by all. Central supports the International Baccalaureate - IB- degree, Advanced Placement, Honors Placement, and a wide assortment of regular education classes and electives. Our goal is to prepare all students to be prepared for career opportunities and to be successful in future roles.

On- Line Instructor

My instruction at the University of MO is in addition to organizational leader at Central High School. I teach research classes on-line to graduate students - guiding writing projects that support individual research projects.I have also taught at the post secondary levels at other universities.

While in St. Joseph, I supported the perfection of Data Team participation for teachers and students. We learned to more effectively evaluate student progress and plan research-based instructional strategies and activities to support student learning. We based our academic work on the foundation of Professional Learning Communities and Capturing Kids Hearts. Kids don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care....

Blue Springs

While at Blue Springs South, I supported the growth of student achievement, began teacher shared-decision-making, and worked with administration in the transition to block scheduling. After four years, I was chosen as Associate Principal, help support the opening of a new Freshman Center in Blue Springs. In that capacity I was responsible for bringing relevant and meaningful professional development to blend the staff from two community high schools. In Blue Springs, I was also Principal of Franklin Smith Elementary, guiding and organizing all aspects of the curriculum, assessment and student well being and growth.
