Doctorate in Educational Leadership completed October 2013: From High School Dropout to College Success: Student Stories. Research included a qualitative phenomenological study of high school dropouts who re-engaged in the Riverside County Office of Education Come Back Kids (CBK) program, completed their high school education, and are currently enrolled in college. The study identified emerging themes of the students' experiences in high school that led to dropping out (school practices, family situations, etc.), the experience in CBK including teacher/mentors, college preparation/coaching, and their experience and perseverance as a college student.Learn about the CLS SEL Curriculum for teaching your students Social Emotional Skills as well as how taking a restorative approach to dealing with the most common student behaviors can increase positive school culture and reduce suspensions on your campus.
