Managing Hematology and Clinical Pathology department with respect to quality reporting of samples; manpower, material and equipment management. Reviewing slides and reports in Hematology and CP sections. Ensuring turnaround time of laboratory tests, Making SOPs for tests, Conducting training sessions/ seminars for staff, Monitoring compliance of staff, interaction with clinicians, Monitoring of stocks, equipment maintenance and the new instrument installation. Ensuring competitive material cost. Review effective and rational utilization of kits and equipment. Review of all Quality Control data. Review of IQAP, EQAS results. Reviewing Validation data of kits prior to utilization at the laboratory bench. Presenting the departments for Audits as and when necessary. Staff rotation, Conduct periodic Competency checks and yearly performance appraisals of the technical staff, Conducting interviews for new recruitments. Attend emergency equipment breakdown in the lab, , Training of Lab staff with the company Service and application specialists at the time of installation and periodic refresher trainings. Maintain all the Documents related for the equipment , To provide Basic troubleshooting Training to the lab staff for the equipment, Keep track of AMC / CMC contracts for the Equipment. Budgeting for the lab equipment expenses, Carrying Out Preventive Maintenance and Calibration for all the allied equipment installed in the lab. Ensuring the equipment downtime is managed within defined SLA by the respective company engineers. Making SOP’s for allied equipment usage, review them and ensure implementation as per accreditation requirements. Coordination with Admin team for upkeep of correct environment for proper equipment functioning. Coordination with vendors and Admin department for regular maintenance.
