I thoroughly enjoyed my thirty-year career as a North Carolina public school educator/administrator with the Iredell-Statesville and Rowan-Salisbury school systems; as a church music director and/or instrumentalist in the Statesville area churches of Cool Spring United Methodist, Fifth Creek Presbyterian, New Salem United Methodist, and Wesley Memorial United Methodist; and as a pianist and music researcher able to reach out nationally with my performing and publishing endeavors.In my formal retirement as an educator, I continue to enjoy work as a freelance educator, musician, and author, having recently served the Davie County school system and Pfeiffer University. I continue to enjoy serving as a church music director, currently at Grace Lower Stone Church outside of Rockwell. I am also music specialist at Salisbury Academy and, in cooperation with them, am now director of Dr. Rob's Salisbury Music Conservatory.I am excited about my new novel, "Icy Shadows." having been released in April 2013 by Warren Publishing in Charlotte. It is a mystery/action adventure interlaced with humor and romance, with moments of surrealism. I have greatly appreciated my fellow citizens for purchasing "Icy Shadows." Being #1 and #2 on the bestselling booklist compiled by the Literary Bookpost within the Salisbury Bookpost, the book has garnered good reviews, has received an "Honorable Mention" in the Great Midwest Book Festival, and has been used as a source of literary study in the book club at Rowan County Early College. It is the first in a series of three novels that I call the "Jericho Trilogy." I am currently working on the sequel, "The Blue People" to be released in the fall of 2016. .
