رحلتي في تطوير المناهج وطرق تدريس الإنجليزية بدأت رحلتي في تطوير مناهج وطرق تدريس اللغة الإنجليزية، في المدارس الحكومية السعودية في عام 2007 ، فقد أجريت دراسة استقصائية لبحث الماجستير لتحديد مشاكل معلمات وطالبات اللغة الإنجليزية التي تعيق مسيرة عملية التعلم والتعليم. وقد كانت تعتبر هذه الدراسة جهد فردي لحل المشكلات. وبناءاً على نتائج بحث الماجستير وبعد معرفة مواطن الخلل في تدريس اللغة الإنجليزية في عينة من المدارس الحكومية ومعرفة أراء المدرسات والطالبات حول استراتيجيات تدريس وتعلم الإنجليزية الفعالة، قدمت أطروحة الدكتوراه في عام 2٠٠٩ خطة إجرائية لإيجاد حلول لهذه المشاكل وفق منهج بحث مناسب. وقد تم تصميم برنامج مكثف، بعنوان "Let us Speak English" وتطبيقه في أحد المدارس الحكومية السعودية لتعزيز ثقة وكفاءة الطلاب للتحدث بالإنجليزية. كانت نتائج الدراسة مثمرة، فقط أثبت البرنامج نجاحه في تحقيق هدفه. لاحظت بعدها من خلال تجربتي التعليمية في مدرسة حكومية ومن خلال مناقشاتي مع معلمات ومشرفات الإنجليزية، خوف المعلمات من التغيير لأنهن يشككن في وظائف وفعاليات الأنشطة الصفية التفاعلية. وإكمالاً لمسيرتي في تطوير مناهج وطرق تدريس الإنجليزية وبناءا علي نتائج دراسة بحث الدكتوراه وفي مجال عملي كمشرفة تدريب في ادارة التدريب والإبتعاث في وزارة التعليم، صممت في عام 2018 حقيبة تدريبية بعنوان English in Communication Meaningful لتلبية احتياجات معلمات الإنجليزية في التطوير المهني بما يناسب رؤية المملكة 2030 . الهدف من هذا البرنامج هو مساعدة معلمي اللغة الإنجليزية في تعزيز ثقة الطالب لإستخدام اللغة الإنجليزية بشكل هادف في التواصل مع الآخرين من خالل إيجاد بدائل وتطوير المنهج ليضم أنشطة تواصلية وتفاعلية. دربت ما يقارب 5000 معلم ومعلمة للغة الإنجليزية وأنشئت شبكة تواصل مع هؤلاء المعلمين لقياس أثر البرنامج التدريبي على أدائهم المهني وتقديم الدعم والتشجيع لهم. ولإيماني بأهمية إجراء البحوث الإجرائية في التطوير المهني حيث مستحيل أن يكون هناك تطوير بدون هذه البحوث، صممت برنامج تدريبي بعنوان “البحث الإجرائي” وأستهدفت به جميع شاغلي الوظائف التعليمية من مشرفات وقائدات ومعلمات وإداريات وتم تنفيذ البرنامج التدريبي “البحث الإجرائي” للتطوير المهني وتم تدريب 1570 متدرب من شاغلي الوظائف التعليمية.
