Dr. Elizabeth Hendrix earned her PhD in Instructional Leadership as well as a master’s degree in Secondary Education from the University of Alabama (UA). In 2016, she earned a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), which is a nationally ranked and renowned program. She was selected from a group of 6,050 to be one of approximately 200 for the prestigious Presidential Management Fellows Program, graduating from it in 2019. For the United States Department of the Treasury in the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Elizabeth works as a Financial Program Specialist in Disbursing & Debt Management Business Planning and Solutions Division as well as a Fiscal Service Coach. Recently, she completed a detail as a Management and Program Analyst in the Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility. Before that, Elizabeth served in the role of Operations Manager for the Electronic Data Interchange program for over three years. Additionally, Elizabeth was a Team Lead for the new Mobile App program in Pay.Gov. Before entering federal service, for several years, Elizabeth worked as an Assistant Professor teaching multicultural education courses with a social justice framework at Missouri Western State University and UA. She also taught foundations of education and research courses and served as a supervisor for pre-service teachers. At UAB, Elizabeth worked as a doctoral program manager for a traditional PhD program and an executive doctoral program. Moreover, she helped manage a master’s program in Saudi Arabia as well. For the American Association of University Women (AAUW), she served as a Public Policy Chair for two states, a co-director of a “Ready to Run” grant in Alabama to increase the number of women in local and state elected offices, a United Nations Delegate for the 50th Commission on the Status of Women, & a national Public Policy Committee Member. She earned a patent, numerous awards, built a reporting robot in 2017, and produced over 24 publications including four books (two of which focused on social justice for educators). Elizabeth served on several non-profit boards & presented her research at over 40 international, national, regional, & state peer-reviewed conferences as well as to numerous federal agencies & senior-level governmental officials, such as the World Forum in Washington, D.C. She was the keynote speaker for two state conventions. Columbia University Teachers College & McGraw Hill sought her to review textbooks; two of which are Teach & Doing Case Study Research 2nd Ed.
