I conducted research into the recruitment and retention of secondary school teachers in Wales and assisted with a review of the new Curriculum for Wales. I focussed specifically on analysing the roles of health and well-being and educational equity and inclusion.

I am a language and literacy education specialist who conducts research and provides training for schools, universities and workplaces in Wales.

I taught on the undergraduate English language and linguistics degree programmes for the modules: How Language Works I; Language and the Mind; and, Developing English: History and Society.

I worked as a Senior Writing Development Tutor for the School of English, Communication and Philosophy at Cardiff University. I supported undergraduate and postgraduate students with developing their academic writing skills in English language, linguistics, literature, creative writing and philosophy. I also designed and led academic writing workshops and helped the centre manager train new tutors.

I was an ESRC-funded PhD student in the Centre for Language and Communication Research.
