The Fénix Foundation is a Netherlands based non-profit with a mission to leverage technology to support international justice, peace, and accountability. We envision a world where lawyers drive innovation in order to uphold and actualise humanitarian standards.

In my role as consultant with Hala, I am working on a resource identifying best practices related to potential audio evidence of international crimes. This resource, titled "The Hala Protocol for the Collection, Modification, Preservation, and Transfer of Audio Data," aims to advance justice by establishing applicable standards for both legal and technical practitioners, firmly grounded in international law.

Member of a pool of consultants available for the provision of international consultancy services in the field of criminal justice, with a focus on war related violations committed during armed conflict. Specialist area: collection, preservation, and use of evidence, including electronic evidence in criminal proceedings.

In my capacity as Assistant Professor of Public International Law I taught courses on the Principles of Public International Law, the Interaction Between Legal Systems, and Digital Technology and Human Rights. My research focused on the role of digital technology in international criminal justice and human rights fact finding. In particular, I explored the roles and responsibilities of social media companies in preventing atrocities and in atrocity accountability, and the relationship between social media companies and international accountability mechanisms.
