Erick Willie was born on the beautiful island of St. Croix on August 4, 1991 to Dolores Bess and Cuthbert Willie. Mr. Willie has a twin sister and two other siblings to whom he loves dearly. Erick Willie began his musical career playing trumpet at the Arthur A. Richards Jr. High School, under the direction of William Howell and Kevre Hendricks. Upon completing junior high, Erick attended the St. Croix Educational Complex where he participated in Concert band, Jazz Band, and Marching Band under the direction of Valrica Bryson, Kevre Hendricks, and Skylar Anderson. After playing trumpet and baritone horn, Erick switched to tuba to accommodate the need for lower brass. In 2009, Erick graduated from the St. Croix Educational Complex with honors.After studying for one year on the Albert A. Sheen Campus, Erick transferred to the St. Thomas Campus, where he matriculated as a Music Education major. As a Music Education major, he has participated in the Concert Band, Jazz ensemble, and Musicians on a Rise, under the directions of the esteemed faculty at UVI. Mr. Willie has been noted to be the first tubist to participate in the Jazz Ensemble at UVI. Through musically inclined, Erick Willie is also committed to academic excellence. In 2012, Erick was inducted into the Golden Key International Honour Society-STT Chapter. As an active member in Golden Key, Erick has served as the Public Relations Officer for the past two years. Through his involvement in Golden Key, he has had the opportunity to travel to Florida and Atlanta for regional conferences. Most importantly, he has been the ONLY male officer to serve on the Executive Board for the past two years. Erick now proudly serves as a Secondary Music Teacher at Arthur A. Richards Jr. High School.
