About Gary Gilliland, Md, Phd

I've devoted my life to developing cures for cancer. We’ve made enormous progress in treating cancer patients and improving their quality of life, but our goal at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center is to cure cancer. We are at an inflection point in developing curative approaches that is driven by a convergence of insights into cancer biology and genetics, and the emergence of advances in data science and technology. In the state of Washington, we are at the perfect time and place to realize the potential of these congruent capabilities – top flight cancer biology and cancer care, combined with the power of cloud-based technologies – to enable the urgent and realizable need for cures for patients with cancer.
