We provide the full range of heritage services that support planning applications, including desk-based assessments, heritage statements and Written Schemes of Investigation that enable planning condition discharge. We consult archives, undertake site visits and assess the significance of archaeological and built heritage assets such as buildings, monuments, structures, facades and churches while providing Historic Building Recording, both photographic and drawn. We run Building Condition and Heritage Building Condition surveys, geophysical surveys that map underground archaeological features, and provide everything needed to process, clean, package, research, identify, report and archive materials and records timeously.We run a complete fieldwork service, including archaeological evaluation trenching and excavation monitoring during construction. We produce screening and scoping documents, historic environment and archaeology chapters, Statements of Common Ground for environmental impact assessments and recommendations for materials use commensurate with historic structures.We advise on the purchasing of land, providing early warning of heritage constraints that might affect development thus reducing risk and generating financial certainty. We source the necessary permissions and consultations for listed buildings, conservation areas and areas of national archaeological importance and liaise with Local Planning Authorities and heritage bodies on clients’ behalf. We specialise in funerary archaeology and osteology, undertake inhumations and cremated bone analysis and offer guidance on sample selection for radiocarbon dating. We advise on using stable isotope analyses, aDNA and facial reconstruction. We have capacity to deliver the entire scope of mitigation works agreed with Planning Authorities; from a simple watching brief to a full-scale invasive excavation.
