The Wayne Regional STEM Network is a public-private collaboration that connects public education, state government, and employers. The Regional Network is part of the Wayne Regional Education Service Agency, www.resa.net. Our goal is to ensure that every student can thrive in the regional STEM economy. Wayne County (Detroit and surrounding suburbs) is the most culturally and linguistically diverse county in the State of Michigan. In addition, approximately 65% of the students in Wayne County Schools are classified as economically disadvantaged and are representative of the wide spectrum of demographic diversity. We provide leadership and services to the 33 local school districts and over 100 charter schools that educate almost 275,000 students. We are committed to the process of continuous improvement through service, leadership, collaboration, and excellence, and we are a goals-driven organization that empowers staff to maximize resources to support student achievement.The Wayne Regional STEM Network is also part of the statewide Michigan STEM Network (MiSTEM). The MiSTEM Network was created as a systemic force to capitalize on educational outcomes in Michigan and ultimately improve students’ preparation for an evolving workforce.
