I'm a writer with a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Leicester. IN THEIR ABSENCE, my debut collection of stories about missing people was published 2021. In 2023 it was translated in to a Bulgarian edition by Ana Pipeva. My second short story collection ON THE BODIES OF STRANGERS is forthcoming from Epoque Press in 2025. This collection was shortlisted for the W&A Working Class Writers prize 2022.My writing has featured in anthologies including The Fairlight Book of Short Stories, High Spirits: A Round of Drinking Stories and Unthology 10: Fight or Flight. I'm widely published in literary journals and magazines globally including Archer Magazine (Australia), Loose Lips (Canada), Litro Magazine, Idle Ink, Losslit, Necessary Fiction and TSS Publishing (all UK).In September 2022 I was successfully awarded Creative Scotland funding to work on my debut novel and have completed the first draft. I am co-founder and director of Wind&Bones, an organisation that uses writing, storytelling and philosophy as catalysts for positive social change. Through Wind&Bones I produce bespoke workshops, lecture series and projects on creative writing, storytelling, communication, social change, equality, philosophy and activism. To date I have worked with women survivors of domestic abuse, ex-political prisoners, doctors, directors of international NGOs, LGBTQI+ groups, activists and community educators from around the world.Via Wind&Bones I have led projects at the Ubud Readers and Writers Festival in Bali, Indonesia, in Myanmar, Taiwan, Greece, Bulgaria, Ireland and across the UK. My partners include the BBC, the British Embassy, Greenpeace, Goethe Institute, Caritas and GIY Ireland.In August 2023 I relocated to Tainan, Taiwan where I will be based for the next two years producing a range of writing, storytelling and social change projects.
