*Direct the establishment and implementation of HSSE and emergency management strategies to ensure effective management of risks, sustainability of environment and emergency readiness*Manage the Emergency preparedness and disaster management program, by testing and reviewing effectiveness of procedures through emergency drills*Establish and implement risk mitigation measures to safeguard the health and safety of employees and protection of the environment*Identify operational best practices and initiatives and ensure integration of HSE policies and practices into the business in order to support the accomplishment of the organization s HSE objectives and goals established for its operations and projects*Review and drive operational effectiveness for HSE programs, including continuous improvement in procedures and tools to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, effective utilization of best practices, and enhanced productivity*Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to comply with Seadrill Total Management System and QHSE directives/procedures*Ensure all incidents are reported properly in compliance with government departments and regulations through employment of incident management process, review and investigate causes of accident and incident affecting HSE and recommend and monitor corrective measures. Identify casual factors and determine necessary remedial action so that re-occurrence is prevented *Calculate trends to identify issues and inconsistencies among AS rigs *Develop and steer HSE performance, progress, prevention, and corrective action plans *Interact and consult with Management, Consultants, Service provider, Suppliers, Clients and departmental heads and to provide advice on appropriate HSE control measures and requirements.*Develop and administer budget for the department to ensure that all HSE activities are approved and accounted for effective implementation

This role reports directly to the Director of QHSE Africa & Middle East who has 3 direct report & a total team of 12.
