About Dr. -Ing. Tatiane Medeiros Melo
As the Project Leader for Biochar-based Products at Inkoh AG, I leverage my doctoral degree in Civil Engineering and over a decade of experience in Environmental Management and Research to evaluate and develop sustainable and innovative biochar-based products. These products include agricultural substrates, climate-friendly concrete, and activated carbon.In my role as Research and Development Coordinator at Carbonauten GmbH, I led trials with farmers, institutions, and universities globally to assess the performance and potential of Carbonauten's biochar and wood vinegar-based products across various crops, soils, and climates. I also managed a comprehensive database of these products and prepared business and financial plans for the agricultural unit.Previously, as a Postdoctoral Scientist at the University of Wuppertal, I acquired, managed, and conducted projects related to the bioeconomy, biogeochemistry, and ecotoxicology of biochar and innovative biochar-based products. Additionally, I have experience using synchrotron X-ray spectroscopy to analyze soil samples in Taiwan.In Brazil, I received two awards for my environmental management projects in a precast concrete industry and in collaboration with a Recycling Waste Cooperative.My passion lies in developing and implementing innovative, efficient, and sustainable solutions that contribute to the circular economy.
