37.5 years experience:2.5 years as Director, National Institute of Hydrology (NIH), Roorkee. Being Chief Executive Officer of NIH, major responsibilities included overall administration and management of the Institute including administration; finance; close coordination with the Deptt. of Water Resources, RD&GR, Ministry of Jal Shakti; implementation and supervision of research programmes and technology transfer programmes; disciplinary control over work/activities and conduct of all employees of the Institute; and Coordination with various central and state departments etc. As NHP Project Coordinator at NIH, also supervised and coordinated all tasks assigned to NIH under National Hydrology Project.- 28 years as researcher at different positions which includes basic and applied research studies, sponsored and consultancy projects, and field based studies in the area of hydrology and water resources management with specialization in hydrological modeling, water budgeting, forest hydrology, impact assessment of land use changes on catchment hydrology, soil erosion and sediment transport modeling, soil & water conservation technologies for flood and sediment control, application of remote sensing & GIS in hydrological studies, etc.- 7 years in the field which includes planning, formulation & evaluation of development projects in the area of irrigation, water management, watershed management and soil & water conservation. - As a scientist at various positions, carried out specialized subject teaching on various topics of hydrology and water resources engineering through delivery of more than 300 lectures in more than 100 training courses organised by NIH, IITs and other national and international institutes and departments. - Have more than 200 publications to my credit in the form of technical reports and research papers in national and international peer reviewed journals and conferences. I have also guided a number of M. Tech. dissertation and Ph. D. Thesis. I have also organized a number of short term training courses for the students, academicians and professionals working in the area of hydrology and water resources. I have also organized number of seminars and conferences. I had been working as Chairman and member of many national and international committees. With a total working experience of 37.5 years at various positions and having performed multifarious administrative, management and scientific responsibilities at different levels, I have all leadership qualities to run an Institute of national repute.
