For the last past nineteen years of instructing and coordinating in the educational arena, I have found that including students in the generation of their lessons, behavior plans and therapeutic treatments are most effective. I learned that when students and professionals are taught and challenged in their “affective domain of learning” that the results are unimaginable because they are comfortable and eager to learn and extinguish their undesired behaviors. Subsequently, these same instructional methods are also considered in the generation and execution of their behavior intervention plans. In addition, I feel that I am highly qualified for any position in the educational or mental heath arena based on my Virginia Department of Education teachers’ license with endorsements in LD/ED & MR, Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership, Master in Education, Bachelor of Science in Communications with an English minor, Virginia Department Of Education committee member, psychometric responsibilities and a plethora of workshops in mental health and education (Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences, Universal Design, Brain-based learning).
