Self-starter able to work independently and cooperatively.BIO:I graduated with a starred first-class Master's degree in theoretical physics from the University of York, scoring top of my class averaging 86%. For my dissertation, I advanced a fruitful project started in a Nuffield Foundation sponsored summer scholarship to help identify the dynamic role of electronic correlation to improve exchange-correlation functionals for time dependent density functional theory, which resulted in a well cited publication in PRB(R). I then gained a research Master's in molecular modelling and material's science at University College London (UCL) where I developed a classical model of BaTiO3 to analyse the behaviour of domain walls and polar dead regions at surfaces in partnership with the National Physical Laboratory.Building upon my MRes I completed an EPSRC funded doctoral degree at UCL, for which I have investigated the atomic mechanisms of domain wall dynamics, finite size effects and the correlated behaviour of induced defect-dipoles from dopant-vacancy complexes to enhance the functional control of ferroelectric materials. My thesis won the Marshall-Stoneham prize for Outstanding Postdoctoral Research.I have end-to-end software development experience building codes for the successful completion of multinational collaborative research objectives using Python, C, C++ and Fortran. I have experience writing proposals and securing use on national supercomputing facilities.I have experience supervising and mentoring students from across a range of ages and abilities, as well as management experience as a social and then sports secretary for the University of York Physics Society. I have given talks, presented posters and led discussion at numerous prestigious conferences across Europe, Asia and North America including two invited talks in the USA. I instigated two very successful international collaborations resulting in a peer reviewed article of which I am lead author. I have lead author and co-author publications in high-impact journals from successful research projects. I have written advanced analysis software, now used by collaborators in the UK, Germany and USA, to extract meaningful data from large molecular dynamics simulations on perovskite ferroelectrics.
