As an advocate for the rights of children and adults with dyslexia and other reading disabilities, I seek to implement equal opportunities for all dyslexics in Australia and the world to reach their full potential.

As an advocate for the rights of people with significant learning disabilities (such as dyslexia), I was instrumental in having the following laws introduced for dyslexics:The Commonwealth Disability Discrimination Act 1992 to include dyslexia as a disability;The NSW Anti-Discrimination Amendment (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2004 No. 79 to allow people with disabilities (including dyslexics) to seek assistance in lodging complaints;The NSW Educational Support for Dyslexic Children's Bill 2007 no 2007;The NSW Education Amendment (Educational Support for Children with Significant Learning Difficulties) Act 2008 No 109 to include dyslexia as a learning disabilityas well as various policy changes in NSW, Victoria, Queensland, and the Commonwealth of Australia.(2008) I generated the Australian dyslexia working party, then became a member.

Awarded due to being in the top fifteen per cent in academic achievement as validated by Macquarie University.

I was chosen to speak to new graduates and members of the public on behalf of Golden Key.

I presented a paper 'Falling between the Cracks' how the system fails dyslexics, at a Human Rights, Disability and Education Conference, UTS, September 1999.
