I am less concerned with theory and 'models' of therapy and most concerned with what works (within the bounds of professional practice). "What works" is what needs to be discovered with each client. I do not subscribe to the "one size fits all" approach (namely, manualized psychology - CBT). My work is based on the person who consults me at the time of our meeting, their needs and what they are seeking.My background is in phenomenology and existentialism, psychoanalysis, psychodynamic psychotherapy, trauma-informed therapy and the psychotherapy of mental disorders.I supervise other therapists, psychiatrists and registrars practising psychotherapy, developmental paediatricians and the legal and counselling staff of knowmore - who advise clients of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sex Abuse.
