I took early retirement in July 2022 due to the worsening of my Chronic Ill Health (CFS/ME) and am currently unable to work due to debilitating and disabling symptoms.I was previously a Chartered Clinical Psychologist (C.Psychol), Associate Fellow of the BPS (AFBPsS) & a Registered Psychologist with the Health & Care Professional Council; working as a highly specialist clinical psychologist in at Broadmoor high secure psychiatric hospital for 15 years (from 2007).I specialised in psychological assessments and treatments for people presenting with mental health difficulties, personality disorder, and offending risk. I co-developed our groupwork programme for people with a history of substance misuse. I provided teaching for MSc Forensic Psychology courses on subjects such as: Relapse Prevention, Assessment and Treatment of Mental Illness, Working with Substance Misuse, and The Psychology of Stalking behaviour.I was an Associate Practitioner in Restorative Justice for West London Mental Health Trust for 5 years.I worked as a team psychologist on a high dependency ward supporting staff and patients in the process of recovery from distressing symptoms of psychosis, behavioural management difficulties and mood instability. My other key interests included: motivational interviewing, attachment theory, schema-focused therapy, suicide prevention, and service-user & carer involvement.
