It is my pleasure and privilege to have returned to that which I love in facilitating the growth of young artists each and every day. My days are filled with all levels of art students from foundations ( Art 1) to upper level classes (Art 2-3-4) up to Advanced Placement.

After enjoying a couple of long term substitute teaching assignments, my principal called me at home asking me to be his art teacher. It had me realize how much I missed teaching and more specifically being around young people all day. It has been an incredible experience and my life is so blessed. The faculty, administration, and students are amazing, energetic, talented, and a fun way to spend my day. Since my arrival, I have had the opportunity to work with three student teachers, maintain two art rooms, and begin to build a pre-ap program. Life is good.

ACT Houston is an alternative certification program which offers a one year opportunity for participants to apply and be a certified teacher at the conclusion of the program. As a field advisor, my responsibilities involve supporting first year teachers and the facilitation of training to provide the best possible solutions to ensure FYT's success in the classroom.

Many college graduates upon entering the work force decide to become certified to become a public school teacher. Alternative certification programs like ACT Houston ( of which there are 150 of them or more) provide the opportunity for devoted individuals like these to acquire their teaching credentials to then enjoy the life of an educator. Observe and coach groups of first year teachers to better understand all of what it takes to succeed in the classroom. We discuss strategies and methodologies that will engage their students. At the same time,they successfully complete ACT Houston's alternative certification program.

Eve's Garden, Texas is an intimate venue for garden weddings, receptions, family gatherings, girlfriend getaways, culture events and holiday celebrations. Located west of Houston right off Interstate 10 it is close enough to Houston to provide numerous activities and yet nestled in a city block of a natural garden. It is a great place to escape.

My Virtual Art Room provides all the necessary inspiration for the art educators and their art students along with those home schooled budding artists. It is a work in progress and about to become a members only site for building a community of like minded art enthusiasts to share ideas and together be better at what we all love to do which inspire art.

As a former instructor of first through fourth year art classes and the lead teacher for Advanced Placement Studio Art portfolio submissions in both a regular and an art magnet school, my thirty four incredible years were spent with very talented students and educators in an exciting marriage between traditional and digital media. The annual Texas Art Education Association Conference is the highlight of the year for art educators across the state and provides an opportunity to connect with art educators from all levels.The National Art Education Conference brings over 3,000 art educators together to learn new ideas.Texas held it's conference in San Antonio. This year’s conference was held November 7 - 11.National was in Fort Worth, Texas at the convention center and the beautiful Omni Hotel. It is both organization's goal to provide quality art education for the students in our great state and nation while also sharing and mentoring other art educators from across the state/nation.

Received a phone call at home after a long term substitute teaching position with the principal offering me a job as a full time art teacher in a middle school near my home. I absolutely loved being with kids again and decided to take the position and I love being among the phenomenal and very talented students, faculty, staff, and administration at Dulles Middle School. Life keeps blessing me with wonderful opportunities to grow and expand my skills while giving the best of myself.
