They offer housing, nursing, mental therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and transportation as required. With this company, I executed a strategic career transition, departing from an orthopedic group and conceptualizing a visionary plan to revolutionize group home care for patients with intellectual disabilities with high medical needs. I translated the success from a single home upon founding to 3 homes at the time of sale, with plans in place for a 4th, providing care to 24 patients across all locations. We were also able to open a second location in Florida in the 3rd year of operation due to our success of the operations in Chesapeake. Within this role, I:- Successfully executed the sale of the business for $6.4M to a capital investor in May 2022, achieving a significant return on investment far greater than the $2.5M offered by the same investor in Nov. 2021.- Developed and documented 263 pages of standard operating procedures to ensure streamlined performance and alignment with regulatory and quality expectations, resulting in improved efficiency and compliance.- Provided housing for individuals being released from Mental Health hospitals and prison, connecting them with counselors and setting them up with the necessary resources, including psychiatric care, drug rehab, and job coaching.- Implemented a robust QA system that integrated with policies and procedures, leading to a two-year track record of zero Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).- Established an effective structure for engaging with legislators, leading to a significant victory in a lawsuit against Medicaid and subsequent changes in the legislative structure.- Led the creation of an in-house transportation system, resulting in timely and cost-effective transportation for clients while reducing reliance on Medicaid.
