I am an ordained Lutheran Pastor who has served the same congregation for the past 31 years. I am also a Church Musician, composer and hymn writer, Avocationally, I have been actively involved in Fire and EMS since 1976 and presently serve as a paramedic in Suffolk County on my time off from the Church. I see both being a pastor and paramedic complementary fields, each contributing to the strength of the other.I am an Approved Instructor for the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress, and have served in various emergency services (Police/Fire/EMS) chaplaincy roles (including Police Chaplain for the Port Authority Police Department of NY/NJ) throughout my ministry. I am currently a Chaplain for the Southampton Town Police Department and the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office. I hold a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Trinity Seminary. My thesis title was “Sparks in the Stubble: Ministry to Emergency Service Providers in the Congregation.”
