Dr. McGoohan is currently operating partner for Strategic Care Consortium.Strategic Care Consortium is a value-based primary care organization providing innovative solutions for providers and payers.His experience in both provider and payer risk based contracting, population health management , utilization/care management, as well as achieving 5-star quality outcomes through operational excellence is part of his operational “know how.”Dr McGoohan was the former Chief Strategy Officer for Cano Health and supports national expansion efforts, M&A activity and contracting across the organization.Dr. McGoohan recently held the position of Chief Operating Officer for Cano Health. In that role, Dr. McGoohan had accountability for several key functional areas within Cano Health LLC (South Florida, Tampa, Orlando) that included medical center operations, new medical center integration, transportation, call center operations, Information Technology, wellness activities, and working collaboratively with the entire Cano Health team to create the optimal member experience and “best in class” health care outcomes.Prior to Cano Health, Dr McGoohan worked as the South Regional Medical Director and Statewide Medical Director Strategic innovations with Florida Blue, which provides healthcare benefits for over 4.5M Members statewide. Dr McGoohan has been both a Chief Medical Officer and Chief Executive Officer for a Florida MAPD Plan and has been an integral part of a successful senior management team in the sale of two Florida Health Care Companies ( Careplus to Humana in 2005 for $450M and Vista/Summit Health Plans in 2007 to Coventry for $685M).As the Chief Medical Officer and Market Vice President for CarePlus in 2014-2015, Dr. McGoohan’s responsibilities included the oversight of the plan’s statewide medical operations in 19 counties throughout Florida serving over 104,000 Medicare Advantage Under Dr. McGoohan, CarePlus was the only 5 Star rated health plan in the State of Florida, and the only Humana owned company in the United States to achieve a 5 Star ranking in 2015. Dr McGoohan has held positions at Cigna Health Plans and United Healthcare as well.Dr. McGoohan is Board Certified in family medicine.
