However, it didn’t take long to realise that achieving those outcomes was about much more than just clinical interactions. It requires a more comprehensive population health approach that supports people to live healthier happier lives.Over time, I’ve increasingly advocated reshaping health systems to focus not just on treating illness but on creating health and preventing ill health through proactive, community-based support and community-led initiatives. This requires us to work with people, helping them overcome the barriers that prevent them from staying well, rather than simply responding to illness after it strikes. Known for my ability to bring clarity to complex challenges, I simplify solutions and communicate them effectively. This strength, combined with strategic insight and practical action, has helped me forge strong partnerships and bring fresh perspectives to policy and practice. Whether contributing to policy discussions, shaping media narratives, or supporting on-the-ground improvements, my aim is to create health systems that are not only efficient but compassionate, resilient, and responsive to what matters to people.Now, in a calmer phase of my professional life, a “renaissance” if you will, I’m enjoying new opportunities to contribute, learn and expand my impact.
