With more than 17 years of teaching, research, industry and management experience, Dr Kashif Imran has served as Inaugural Head of the Electrical Power Engineering Department at USPCASE NUST from 2017 to 2021, where he is currently working as Associate Professor. His industry experience includes working at SIEMENS and NESPAK. His teaching experience involves working at UET Lahore and COMSATS University Islamabad. He won prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship and completed his PhD in Electrical Engineering from University of Strathclyde, UK. His thesis involves modeling and simulation of strategies of generators and loads in deregulated electricity markets subject to physical power system constraints.He led successful development of High Voltage Lab at NUST as Principal Investigator from 2018 to 2022. The lab has been established in a dedicated building with equipment manufactured by Haefely Switzerland at a total cost of USD 1 million.Working on applications of machine learning and optimization techniques for solving power system and electricity markets problems. Regularly engaging with Pakistan power sector stakeholders and offering consulting, training, research, and report writing services.
