I’m a radiation oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Maitland. Born and raised in Newcastle, I originally began my medical training as a radiation therapist, earning my Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (RT) from University of Newcastle in 2003. After working at the Calvary Mater Newcastle in 2004, I began my radiation oncology career at the University of Newcastle, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine (BMed) in 2009. I subsequently began my formal training at the Hunter New England Health Service and later returned to Calvary Mater Newcastle in 2013 where I completed my advanced training in radiation oncology, gaining extensive experience in managing a broad range of cancers.My clinical experience covers a broad range of solid tumour malignancies with a special interest in breast cancer, genitourinary cancer, gynaecological cancers, lung cancer and skin cancers, stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SBRT) and palliative radiotherapy.My profile and interests can be found on the Icon website here: https://iconcancercentre.com.au/doctor/Kate-Martin
