I love animals, ALL animals...In 2015, my dreams of being a feline specialist came to a screeching halt when my business was unable to keep it's head above water financially and I had to close my clinic and say farewell.I relocated to the Bay Area to avoid seeing my clinic go back to it's original owner (long story) and I needed a fresh start and some new scenery. It was scary leaving with nothing but my 2 most precious possessions: my kids and a desire to start over and rediscover that love for medicine that had been taken from me by the financial world, a world that can be unforgiving and cruel. I moved to Millbrae, Ca. and accepted a job with Banfield as a Chief of Staff at San Mateo but, initially and without too much detail, things didnt go as expected and I felt unhappy. After much discussion, my boss reinvented my position to better fit me and my needs and the company's needs. For that, I will be forever grateful. Banfield has been compassionate about my single mother status, allowing me to work 4 days and also has seen enough of me to realize that I am a good teacher and communicator, especially with new grads and doctors. I thoroughly enjoy helping new vets find their way, whether it be medically or with communicating with clients. If you ask any of my past clients, they would say that they alway knew that I cared and that their pet was receiving the greatest of care. I treat each patient as my own. This created client retention. Happy, well-trained docs created doctor retention and the combination created income. I am looking forward to my new challenge. Now if someone could just do something about the cost of living in the San Francisco area.....Eventually, the high cost of living drove me out of "the city by the bay" which broke my heart. Onward and upward as they say! Southern California once again beckoned and my family and I headed south for a second round. After a few job flops I am happy to say I am VERY happy at Beach City Animal Hospital in Huntington Beach. This may not be the largest or shiniest clinic I have been employed by, but ,we practice with heart and that is what matters! I do, occasionally, miss all cats all day, but, I am enjoying a variety of species and having so much fun learning new techniques from my colleges. No matter how old you get, one never stops learning! If you happen to be around the area of Warner Ave and Gothard in HB, stop in to say hello! I always have time for a colleague.🐾🐾🐾🐾Dr. K
