Dr. Bui is the Deputy Chief of Staff and Medical Director of Quality at Mackenzie Health. He completed his medical degree at the University of Toronto, and residency in General Surgery at McMaster University, Hamilton. Dr. Bui is the Chair of Mackenzie Health’s Multidisciplinary Cancer Conference, and President and CEO & Medical Director of Thornhill Endoscopy Centre. He is also the Past Interim Chief of Staff, and past President of the Professional Staff. He has been involved in various committees at Mackenzie Health, including Chair of MAC, Quality, Safety & Risk, Corporate Quality of Care Committee, Governance Committee, and Chair of Pharmacy, Nutrition & Therapeutics. Currently, Dr. Bui is a Director on the Mackenzie Health Foundation Board, actively engaged in one of the largest hospital fundraising campaign in Canada. He was a member of the Executive Committee of the Foundation Board. As a Minimally Invasive Surgeon, Dr. Bui has interests in stomach & colorectal cancer, utilizing minimally invasive surgical techniques. He has published research papers in Canadian Family Physician, HPB Surgery, and The Journal of Surgical Oncology. As Assistant Clinical Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University, Dr. Bui is actively involved in training future physicians and surgeons, and recieved the distinction of best community surgeon teacher in 2020 from McMaster University. Dr. Bui is a member of the Ontario Medical Association, Canadian Medical Association, Canadian Association of General Surgeons, Ontario Association of General Surgeons, Canadian Society of Surgical Oncology, Canadian Association of Bariatric Physicians & Surgeons.
