Profile bio

About Dr Magdalena Doherty

I obtained a 1st Class honours degree in Veterinary medicine and continue to utilise my academic skills in the practical side of my profession, I have passion for my profession and it shows. Dedication to my profession shows in my determination and effort to provide the very best in clinical practice. I am always willing to learn new skills and develop in areas of veterinary medicine. Of particular interest is ultrasound, soft tissue surgery and internal medicine. I am a very ambitious and hard working individual.I am responsible, organised and very presentable. Above all I am easy going and maintain a good sense of humour. I enjoy working within a team although equally I can be relied upon to work on my own initiative. I am well liked and respected at my former employers and have led teams and been responsible for running two practices from start up to success.Outside of work I enjoy exercise to rebalance, indeed exercise is vital to reinvigorate after the stresses of practice life. In Poland I was a keen Ballroom dancer and my proficiency was such that I gave instruction to children and adults. I also very much enjoy relaxing with my family, two boys and daughter who are a complete delight, despite their super levels of energy. I have two German Pointers, Peggy and Coco who also keep me fit and active outside of work.Life long learning is of significant importance to me, hence my pursuit of Advanced Practitioner status with the RCVS. I have recently completed my module A "Foundations of Advanced Veterinary Practice" and was admitted to the register of Advanced Practitioners in March 2021
