Dr. Marcelle Moore (MA Hons; MPhilSc; DClinPsych; Dip in Systemic Practice; MAPS) is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (APPRHA), is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the APS College of Clinical Psychology. She has a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, a Masters in Developmental Psychology specifically related to helping young children with feeding difficulties; a MA (hons) in psychology and a Diploma in working with Families using a range of research-based techniques. Prior to practicing in Australia, Dr. Moore worked at the Tavistock Clinic, London, which is internationally recognised for its exceptional research and clinical work with children and their families.Dr. Moore specialises in the assessment and treatment of children and families to help them manage the tricky emotional and behavioural challenges they face. Since coming to Australia, Dr. Moore has worked at Sydney Children’s Hospital as part of the Neuro-oncology and Cerebral Palsy team. She has also worked in Developmental Paediatrics as part of the multi-disciplinary team that focused on assessing children’s developmental abilities. Dr. Moore worked in collaboration with Developmental Paediatricians to develop a treatment pathway for families and children, as well as working in partnership with children’s schools to provide effective support for them in their classrooms. Dr. Moore was actively involved in providing detailed assessment and intervention for children who meet the clinical criteria for a diagnosis of a developmental condition such as ADHD or Autism.Some of Dr Moore’s specialist areas include working with children and parents in separated or divorced situations, children with neuro-biological conditions, as well as working with children to promote self-confidence and resilience.Dr. Moore’s therapeutic style is warm and empathic. Her techniques are evidence based and adapted to meet the needs of families and individuals. She greatly values the importance of listening to families stories as a way of formulating a treatment pathway that is goal orientated and helps children to get back on track with age appropriate tasks.She has a particular interest in neuroscience and attachment-based research. She uses both of these theoretical frameworks to inform her work with families. Dr. Moore works in a creative and collaborative way with the families and children she sees to enable them to build a toolbox of skills and strategies they can then use in their everyday life.
