Dr. Melrose has practiced emergency medicine for over 30 years, and is a member of the faculty of the Emergency Care Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Previous leadership roles include: Medical Director at Premise Health/Goldman Sachs and Chief of Emergency Services at NYC Health and Hospitals/North Central Bronx among others. In 2010, Mark co-founded Urgent Care Manhattan, one of the first urgent care medical practices in New York City. The practice was acquired by Northwell - GoHealth Urgent Care in August 2015. Prior to launching Urgent Care Manhattan he served in various hospital clinical leadership roles throughout the New York City metropolitan area. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine, and has served as an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine at the Weill Cornell Medical College.Dr. Melrose was named one of the area’s Best Emergency Physicians by New Jersey Monthly Magazine in 2008 and 2009, and an emergency medicine "Super Doctor" in the NY Times Magazine from 2012-2024. Dr. Melrose is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and additionally received an MFA in Film from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts. He has shared medical advice on camera and in print with news outlets including Dr. Oz, Fox News, WABC, WCBS, WNBC, and Fox 5, as well as Metro NY, The New York Times and NY Daily News.
