About Dr Mark Wheeler

Completed a PhD in Psychology at Essex University where my research centred on the provision of mental health care for military veterans. After a pilot study on the effects of green exercise and peer support networks in PTSD for military veterans (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-29015331) my thesis concentrated on this specific client group. Within my clinical work my area of expertise is working with trauma affected clients. I offer trauma clients either C.B.T, P.E.T or EMDR as treatment options. I am an accredited EMDR practitioner and have also trained as a specialist Child and adolescent EMDR practitioner too. I am currently implementing new strategies to increase access for military veterans into the service.I also work as an Accredited Couple Therapy for Depression IAPT Practitioner, specialising in couples that are affected by depression. I also hold a post graduate diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for primary health care staff at UEA.Specialities: Psychology, CBT, EMDR for adults and children and both Individual and Couples Therapy.My Twitter feed is @ptsdessex
