Over the past 21 years, I have held nine leadership positions in academia, research, and administration. These roles allowed me to lead accreditation efforts, develop academic programs, evaluate program delivery, manage budgets, enhance outcomes, and build research resources. As a peer accreditation reviewer for WSCUC, I led the 10-year accreditation renewal of a top-10 ranked occupational therapy program and secured accreditation for a new PhD Program in Occupation and Rehabilitation Science, the first of its kind in the US. I have mentored faculty in founding and accrediting new academic programs.As a health services researcher and leader, I stay informed about healthcare priorities, challenges, and opportunities. I use an evidence-based approach to understand trends, incorporating data from national sources, advisory panel recommendations, and alumni reports. Understanding the healthcare landscape is crucial for educating students and developing learning outcomes. Interprofessional education and integrative health models are emphasized for better learner and client outcomes, aligning with my drive to foster education and research that support health equity.As a principal investigator, I have managed research programs with over $2 million in grant funding and $900,000 in equipment expenditures, with grants from NIH, GlaxoSmithKline, and the American Occupational Therapy Foundation. I have managed budgets for four academic programs, securing funding to grow resources, expand space, and develop a faculty grants program. I have collaborated with healthcare professionals at 14 Colorado hospitals on research and quality improvement programs and developed health supports for the unhoused and uninsured. My international experience includes serving as a Visiting Professor in Japan and as a research mentor in Korea.
