My name is Maya Danova, originally Bulgarian, however already for more than three years expanding my professional horizon within the Dutch labour environment and with a rich international, intercultural and cross-disciplinary experience all over Europe. I hold a Master’s degree in Human resources and a PhD degree in Tourism management and have been active as a lecturer for six years at two prestigious universities. I have a huge experience as a human resources management and also in providing trainings on the communication and leadership skills in international environment.In the last 10 years working within the framework of European projects (under Erasmus+ program) as both project developer and project manager, I have been gaining a vast experience in continuously connecting work-field practice, training and academia. As a lecturer, coach, and trainer, I have been always searching and applying modern methods of practical application and active learning including blended learning, business simulations and case studies, which to enhance the students' understanding of each discipline as it is used in real world scenarios. Those activities have been another part of my professional career pathway so far.I am a self-driver, and I can work independently but I also love working in teams especially within the dynamic academic environment. I am also analytical and conceptual. My communication skills have been always assessed as excellent. I feel comfortable and competent with both public and informative speaking. I strive to find exciting methods and tools when it comes to co-creating knowledge with the students and designing educational content with specific intended learning outcomes and goals. Administrating coursework and exams are part of my experience and proficiency and in contrast to others, I do find the long-term value in doing so, thus building upon the quality and transparency of the educational cycle. I find it important to keep to but also go beyond regular office hours as that enhances students’ and other educators’ engagement and ensures that I am always on the right track regarding the academic needs and practices.
