The Special Forces Warrant Officer Institute, located in Volckmann Hall, is responsible for all MOS specific professional military education for MOS 180A. Contained within the institute are three main classrooms and five break-out rooms. The institute is capable of providing classified level instruction to 160 candidates and officers annually. The SFWOI is an adaptive and collaborative learning institution that provides the most current and relevant professional military education for SF Warrant Officers at every level of their career in support of operational requirements.The WOI produces adaptive leaders who are capable of applying critical and creative thinking in performance of their duties, proficient in staff planning and JIIM operations, demonstrated competency in the planning and execution of Special Operations, culturally astute, politically sensitive, and able to shape future operations while contributing to the national security strategy.

Works at SOCCOM MSE (Mission Support Element) on Fort Liberty North Carolina in direct support of SOCCOM objectives and missions. Prepares and briefs deploying personnel from all branches of the United States DoD for upcoming deployments within the CENTCOM/SOCCENT area of operations in direct support of ongoing operations.

Company Operations Warrant Officer

Airborne Infantry Paratrooper assigned to 82nd Airborne Division

Senior Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) for GSB of 3rd SFGA. Advise, lead and mentor 550+ Officers, Warrant Officers, NCOs and Soldiers who represent 68 different military occupational specialties, directly responsible for providing direct support for the 3rd SFGA.

Works directly for Commanding General of USASOC, to Test and Evaluate the newest equipment, weapons and vehicles waiting to be fielded across the United States Army.

Serves as the Operations and Intelligence Officer for a Special Forces Company consisting of a headquarters and six ODAs. Responsible for technical assistance to the Executive Officer and Company Commander for all matters pertaining to OPLANs, CONPLANs, Unilateral and Joint Exercise Planning for the Company. Provides technical expertise in administration, logistics, intelligence, planning, and training for the Company. Provides technical oversight for the ODAs to insure mission readiness. Assumes the duties of the Executive Officer in his absence. Provides technical assistance in planning and executing operational plans; acts as a shift leader during 24 hour operations of the Company HQ when organized into an AOB, SOCCE, or ISOFAC. Focal point officer for Warrant Officer Professional Development in the Company.

Assistant Detachment Commander of a 12-man Military Free Fall Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha (SFODA); commands the SFODA in the absence of the assigned commander and half the detachment during split team operations; supervises and directs all staff functions at the detachment level to include the development of the SFODA mid and long range training plans; provides tactical and technical assistance focusing primarily on Unconventional Warfare, Special Reconnaissance, Foreign Internal Defense, Psychological Operation, Counterterrorism, and Civil/Military activities, ensures the detachment is able to conduct short notice deployments in the USCENTCOM and USEUCOM areas of responsibility in support of the Combatant Commander's objectives; able to organize, train, and advise and indigenous battalion in light infantry and combined arms tactics.
