At the moment I am writing a book on the immigration policy in Western Germany 1949 to 1970 where I examine how border control, check on immigration, deportation of aliens was implemented. I am also analyzing inhowfar the Nazi past had an influence on immigration policy after 1945, for instance when I consider the treatment of Israeli citizens immigrating into Western Germany.Before I wrote a book where I compared the anti-Jewish policy of Nazi Germany and Vichy France to find out why the "German way" ended up in Auschwitz and why other modern nations like France segregated and interned Jews but never crossed the threshold to mass killings.
