At REA, our mission is to promote and facilitate the development of career intervention activities that foster collaboration between schools, industry, TAFE, universities, and parents, with a particular focus on encouraging students to engage with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).Under Dr. Myers' leadership, REA has introduced the term STEM to the Australian vernacular and delivered much more than just STEM education. Our activities provide a Metamorphic Learning experience that profoundly changes student and teacher capabilities. Students are equipped with the skills to adapt to a rapidly evolving and complex world, operate at the boundary layer between people and problems, and become true problem-solvers.To achieve this transformation of the education process, we involve Industry and provide role models and mentors to engage directly with students. We measure our success against the achievements of our students at international STEM competitions. Since 2004, 20 student teams (6 students per team) have made it onto the podium, with eight becoming World Champions, 2nd Place 6 times, 3rd Place 5 times, 4th Place 3 times, and 5th Place 6 times. This record is unmatched by the 57 nations that the students compete against, including Germany, the UK, the USA, China, Singapore, and France.Through Dr. Myers' leadership, REA has generated over $47 Million in industry funding to support its programs, which has gone directly into schools.
