Design and develop targeted capacity building strategies. Document and disseminate good practices in HIV prevention, treatment, care and support.

Advocate for the scale up of effective HIV/AIDS interventions in collaboration with national partners. Promote scale up of Elimination of Mother to child Transmission of HIV and keeping mothers alive and well, Medical Male Circumcision, Condom programming and programmes for women and girls. Support the development of action actions and enable community engagement in the response. Engage Government Sectors, development partners and civil society organisations including People living with HIV, Traditional Leaders, Business Sector, Institutions of Higher Learning and communities living along major transport routes in a coordinated and effective response.

Working with Government, development partners and NGOs to scale up the PMTCT programme and to strengthen the Sexual and Reproductive Health programmes in order to reduce the high maternal mortality. In collaboration with CDC I facilitated the introduction of early infant diagnosis for HIV (EID) and strengthened Laboratory cacapcity for CD4 counts. I worked with Government and WHO to strengthen the Maternal and newborn health programme and with UNFPA on comprehensive quality obstetric care.
