A Qualified and experienced professional working in the field of Environment and Development for the more than 35 years with current position as Member Technical Environment Tribunal islamabad and last position as Director General of Environment Protection Agency (EPA) for 16 years. Worked, as Director/Deputy Director in EPA for 13 years and as natural resources scientist in Pakistan Forest Institute for 8 years. Worked as Secretary/member of the forums like KP Environment Protection Council, Climate Change Policy Implementation Committee and Environmental Improvement Fund. Have working experience with world Bank, ADB, APO, IUCN, GTZ, JICA and SDPI.Supervised technical, planning, administrative and financial wings and having plenty experience related to the issues like preparation of budget, preparation and execution of development projects and compliance of Environmental Laws/Rules/regulations related to IEE/EIA, Quality Standards/ Hazardous substances. Remained involved with the NGOs and general public during Public Hearings of EIA/complaints as well as monitoring of the projects executed by NGOS funded under UN programme, federal/provincial governments. Author of the KP Environmental Protection Act, 2014, KP River Protection Ordinance 2002, Review of EIA/IEE Rules, Administrative Penalty Rules, Hospital Waste Management Rules, KP Environmental Protection Tribunal Rules and Biodegradable Plastic bags Rules Supervised the review process of more than 500 IEEs and EIAs of all developmental projects. Also supervised prosecution of more than 3000 legal cases against environmental violators in Environmental Tribunal, Green Bench Peshawar High Court and Supreme Court of Pakistan. Actively representing the country Internationally, as a member of Chemical Review Committee (CRC) of Rotterdam Convention and as a National Expert on Hazardous Substances in Asian Productivity Organization (APO) and numerous other forums Like ADB etc. Also representing the province on all national forums constituted for formulation of National Policies, Plans, Standards and Guidelines and also member of the Board of Governors of Global Change Impact Study Centre (GCISC).
