Over the years our community has grown from a handful of families to number thousands, currently making us the largest concentration of Muslims in the county. More Muslims are dispersed throughout Shropshire who often travel large distances to our current premises at Tan Bank to pray and enjoy the community facilities on offer. We endeavour to improve the understanding of Muslim beliefs and practices, further Islamic teachings, information and knowledge to the community. This includes running daily educational classes for children (Madressa), as well as education for men, and women, seminars for Muslims and other faith communities, as well as facilitating visits for local schools to our Mosque and working with the local interfaith groups. The MCB is pledged to work for the common good of society as a whole; encouraging individual Muslims and Muslim organisations to play a full and participatory role in public life.

The Muslim Doctors and Dentists Association (MDDA) is a professional body made up of diverse healthcare professionals but mainly doctors and dentists. Set up in 1984, it is an independent charity. One of its key objectives is to provide a service that addresses the health and welfare needs of the diverse Muslim Community in the UK, and tackling cardiovascular disease is a key element of that.
