I was Chief Scientist at CSIR Structural Engineering Research Centre. Taramani, Chennai – 600113. I am a fine researcher and a leading consultant in the area of power plant structures and earthquake engineering. I was (founder) head of Advanced Seismic Testing and Research Laboratory ( A-STaR Lab) at SERC Chennai. I was Dean, School of Civil Engineering at VIT University.After obtaining my B.E(Hons) degree in civil Engineering from Government College of Technology, Coimbatore, proceeded to Indian Institute of Technology, Madras where I obtained his M.Tech and Ph.D degree. I was awarded institute gold medal for my position in M.Tech.I was in SERC since 1980 and made a notable contribution in the area of Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering. I guided ten Ph.D students and many PG students. I received Dr Ramaiah prize for six years for the best paper published. I have so far published 230 papers in national and international journals/conferences. I visited Yugoslavia , Germany, Taiwan and Japan on official projects. I handled ten major research projects and nearly hundred and fifty consultancy projects in the area of vibration control and seismic analysis and testing. I am life member of Indian Concrete Institution, Indian Geotechnical Society, Indian Society for Wind Engineering, Indian Nuclear Society, Indian Association for Structural Engineering and Indian Association for Computational Mechanics. I am Fellow of Indian Society for Earthquake Technology and Fellow of Institution of Engineers. I was also member in various BIS code committees.
