I am a Senior Educationist/Professor with more than 40 years of teaching, research and managerial experience to my credit. I have a variety of experience in the field of Education and have worked as post graduate teacher, Principal of post-graduate colleges like F.C. College, Lahore, Director Punjab Textbook Board and Chairman Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Sargodha and University VC.I also got opportunity of lecturing in Civil Services Academy Lahore. I have been member of Academic Council of Punjab University and hold Membership of many other Academic Committees at higher level. I am on the panel of Punjab Public Service Commission, Lahore and Federal Public Service Commission, Islamabad as an Expert, Subject Specialist and Paper Setter/examiner for competitive examinations for more than 20 years. An important part of my service has been my work as Director of Punjab Textbook Board Lahore, which is the largest Center for Textbook development and publishing in Pakistan. I was also able to attend meetings with Scholars, Experts, Professionals and Officials of the International agencies such as the World Bank, USAID, UNESCO, NORAD, CIDA, ODA and the British Council. In 1991, I was sent abroad for by the Govt. of Pakistan administered by the British Council / ODA. This provided an the opportunity to attend International Conferences in the United Kingdom and France. I also got a chance of visiting renowned Centers of learning/Universities such as Universities of London, Cambridge, Oxford, Paris and UNESCO Offices at Paris and completed Masters from University of Bristol, UK.I have published more than 20 books and about 40 research papers/articles on Pedagogy, Literature, Education and Socio-Cultural topics I was graced with ‘Dawood Literary Award’ by Pakistan Writers Guild on my first book entitled – “Urdu Main Qaumi Shairi” in 1978. I conducted research on Textbook Development in Pakistan and the UK while studying at the School of Education, University of Bristol/UK. I have visited UK, France, Norway, Egypt, Middle East Asia, Malaysia and Philippine and attended/presented Papers in International Conferences. In 2002, I was sent to Egypt on Deputation for three years by the Govt of Pakistan against the Pakistan Chair as Visiting Professor at Al-Azhar University, Cairo. On repatriation from Al-Azhar University, my services were placed at the disposal of University of Education, Lahore where I worked on many occasions as Vice Chancellor from April, 2004 till June 2011.
