Hi, I'm Nige Hudson. I'm an unashamedly nice guy. I do my best to inspire and coach people to be brilliant. I'm an educator, consultant, conference speaker, author, editor, and magazine columnist. For more than 25 years I've been participating, observing, listening, and learning; doing what I can to understand real-world challenges so that I can help people to thrive.Affectionately known as 'The Bid Doctor', I'm a marketer who specialises in bidding - the wonderful activity that wins business through written proposals and pitches. I got quite good at it, winning an embarrassing amount of work (£4bn and counting) and achieving the world's first doctorate in a bidding-specific topic. I like pizza, which helped.Sometimes I'm brought in to lead or support teams on live bids, or figure out what happened on dead ones. I encourage everyone to play to their strengths and understand what needs to be done to give the best chance of success. Usually this involves me being the dumbest guy in the room, to ensure simplicity and clarity of message. I'm quite smart at being stupid.At other times, I'll be designing or delivering training, coaching, or mentoring programmes. These always seek to be fun and memorable; enhancing knowledge, skills, and behaviours. To date, I have trained or coached more than 5,000 people worldwide in bidding, capture and negotiation best practice. Which is kinda cool.In my free time, I'm a family man. And when I'm not doing that, I'll be writing and publishing books, getting outdoors to camp and cook in the woods, going fishing, and leading a conservation charity that protects endangered fish.
