My masters degree introduced me to world of microbes at Central Research Institute, Kasauli, H.P. India. I worked on identifying the virulence adhesive factors of Escherichia coli isolated from patients with urinary tract infection. I continued my Ph.D. (Biotechnology) in medical microbiology and worked in healthcare settings in a collaborative manner to collect patients samples and clinical data. My Ph.D work was first study from regions of Himachal to estimate burden of bacterial diarrhea and identification of bacterial agents of diarrhea using biochemical, serological and molecular analysis. I have published 5 scopus indexed research paper from my Ph.D. work. My Post Ph.D. job as Research associate at Department of Pediatrics, Advanced Pediatric Centre (APC), Postgraduate institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh led me to analyze cystic fibrosis mutations among pediatric population of north India through conventional PCR methods and next generation sequencing method.I have hands on experience in molecular techniques like PCR, ARMS-PCR, RFLP, MLPA, Next generation library preparation and worked in clinical setting to procure pediatric patients samples and collection of clinical data in clinical research performa, patient information sheet, and doing sweat chloride testing. As a Research Associate, also worked with patients for prenatal and antenatal counselling of cystic fibrosis.
