Scientific Paper Peer ReviewerState Of California-Department Of Education Mar 2016 - PresentI received the appointment as an anonymous peer reviewer in connection with specific areas of interest that are emerging, effecting change, and innovation in engineering, information, and control system technologies. I was recruited by two major universities to become affiliated with their Community-Engaged Research Programs (CERPs). In some cases this participation includes completing critical assessment of international research articles or papers where direct Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR) is involved. My role as a peer reviewer of these scholarly works (submitted manuscripts) is critical to ensuring the basic underlying empirical methodology applied is appropriate; and, that the applicable federal and professional research standards of investigation are upheld. In many cases these reviews are critical to: the advancement of scientific and scholarly knowledge; grant application approvals and funding; to include, professional advancement as based on the nature and perceived national or global significance (implications) of the research. I am honored to have been recruited for this challenge and the opportunity to contribute back to the California educational system and the greater international research community.
