    As the Principal of Highland High School, I led the school from Academic Watch status (2008) to- making Annual Yearly Progress and P.L. 221 goals (2011) - an “A” grade from the Indiana Department of Education (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014).- Four Star School designation from the Indiana Department of Education (2012, 2013, 2014)-2015 "Best High School" National Ranking by US News and World Report-2015 and 2016 "High Schools That Challenge Their Students" by The Washington Post The high school staff implemented a three year plan of professional development focused on curriculum alignment, assessment design/ implementation, and data analysis to adjust instruction and improve student learning outcomes. The school launched the Pathfinder Academy, a highly successful 7-12 alternative education program for Highland and Lake Central students. Overall, the high school has logged improvement in every bench marked category over the past three years. Most notably, in 2013, our graduation rate was 95.3%, the highest in school history. In April, 2014 I was recognized by the leadership of District 1 of the Indiana Association of School Principals as its High School Principal of the Year.
