Currently, I am the Principal of Eastwood Elementary School in West Fargo ND, and prior principal of Madison Elementary School, and Madison’s Guang Ming Chinese Academy in St. Cloud Minnesota District 742. West Fargo School District and St. Cloud School District are similar in size with a budget of more than 100 million. Leadership matters. In addition to Principal leadership, I am skilled in organizational leadership and collaborative change processes. I consult with local schools to improve student achievement through research-based instructional practices. As a principal I collaboratively lead, plan, and present staff development through professional learning communities with teachers, as well as supervise, coach, mentor, and support teachers in their (SMART) instructional goals. Effective leaders have a broad and deep skill set. I hold a Superintendent’s license, in addition to K-12 principal licensure, and elementary teaching licensure in North Dakota and Minnesota. I have a wealth of experience in K-12 staff development, curriculum, instruction, assessment, special education, grants, budgeting, finance, and facilitating a positive school climate. My doctorate in Educational Leadership focused on change leadership and reculturing schools; schools that have “Beat the Odds” in striving to close the achievement gap. I have assisted in the planning, implementation, and management of numerous grants which include a 1.2 million dollar three year Reading First Grant, Title I, and FLAP (Foreign Language Assistance Program) grant. Leadership is multidimensional.
