Chief Medical Officer with 28 years’ experience providing advice, support and bespoke training for Underwriters and Claims Assessors, for companies including Zurich, Guardian, and SS&C.I have extensive knowledge of a range of insurance products including Life, Critical Illness, Income Protection and benefits such as Fracture cover and Long-term Care. My wealth of clinical experience spans a wide range of specialities, including Occupational Health, General Practice and 16 years in Emergency Medicine. In my former role as an Honorary Consultant in Emergency Medicine, I was also the departmental lead clinician in Mental Health, Alcohol and Drug services. During this time, I was also responsible for developing an Alcohol Liaison Service for the hospital. This diverse background enables me to confidently manage the medical topics seen in Underwriting and Claims teams, including Mental Health, Chronic Pain Syndromes, and Functional disorders. As the Director of Company Medical Advisers (CMA) Ltd, I am proud to provide a range of Underwriting and Claims services, offered by me and a highly experienced team of Consultants covering General Medicine, Cardiology, Oncology, Care of the Elderly, Occupational Health, and Trauma & Orthopaedics.I am a qualified educator and provide training to upskill Underwriters and Claims Assessors around a wide range of medical and surgical conditions. I like to build long standing relationships of mutual trust with the companies that I work alongside, thereby, providing the highest standards of service.When I am not undertaking Insurance work, I thoroughly enjoy Kayaking, learning Spanish, training in Reiki and mountain walking – of course all these leisure pursuits come after my family!
